Biloxi, MS Dog Show, June 2012

Cali, Jacki, & Armani showed in Biloxi, MS. I was very fortunate to have some great help for that show. Three standard poodles are tough to prepare! Tabatha of NOLA Standards had Cali, prepped by Tabatha's mentor Michele Polito. It was Cali's first show and she did pretty well for a new show girl. We have to work with her just a bit more, but she is a very quick study and will surely master the job in no time at all! Here she is, goofing off just a bit after we were done on Sunday while Jacki & I watched the Variety competition (where Armani was being shown by a friend).

Jacki looked pretty and behaved well, but we were not competitive to win in the large Winner's class. She is a good girl and with some more hair (and a better handler than me!) she should finish quickly. It was still good practice for both of us.

Armani was my shining star. He only showed him on the weekend, and on Saturday he took Best of Opposite Sex for a 4 point major towards his Grand Championship! Armani is already a finished champion, but now we are trying to get him into Grand Champion status. It requires 25 points, and you must earn 3 major wins under different judges. All points earned come from defeating other finished champions. It was a very exciting win, but I cannot take all of the credit. I was incredibly lucky to be blessed with the assistance of my friends Kadie, Leslie, Katherine, & Donna (1 of Armani's co- breeders). Kadie offered to take Armani in the ring and I would have been a fool to say no. She is an impeccable groomer and handler, and she made my boy look like a million bucks! His win came under poodle judge/breeder Bill Cunningham of Dacun. Sunday's Opposite Sex win went to Tabatha's newly finished champion, Lombardi. We all had a nice weekend!

Here are Armani & Kadie, looking rather spectacular!
