Cali in Pattern!

Well, Oct. 1, 2012 means Ms. Cali is a year old - time for the continental trim!
Tabatha Waters (NOLA Standards), Cali's co - owner, decided to show her once more in puppy trim in Biloxi, MS. I was still recovering from the Monroe trip/ Isaac evacuation, so I just came along for the ride and the CERF clinic. It was nice not being under the pressure of getting several dogs into the ring.
Tabatha was set up with the renowned Kay Palade Peiser, who was gracious enough to not only let us share her grooming space but also share her knowledge with us. She even put Cali in pattern for us (after beating us every day ). Cali showed well in her final show in puppy trim, but she was a mass of coat. I have to say one thing - this little girl is a coat factory! She grows hair so fast and so thick, that she tends to get lost underneath it. She is actually a petitie and refined little lady, and just as sweet as can be. I wasn't present for the cut down, but I heard that Cali was really pouting!
Since then, she has gotten a little more used to her bare butt, and I sure do enjoy the decreased drying time of her weekly baths. She will probably sit out for a bit to let her rosettes (butt pom poms) and her jacket fill in. She is just too cute in her new 'do.

Judging by her tail, which is usually straight up, she is not too thrilled with her new look!
