Jacki is a Champion!

Wow! What an exciting few weeks this has been! I have a very happy announcement to make: Jacki is now AKC Champion By Request Donnchada Jacqueline! Shown very sparingly, I took Jacki's breeder's advice and waited until she was ready to be in the show ring, and it paid off. This is such great advice. Too often, we as owners get excited and try to show the dogs before their time. It's no good! The best thing you can do with a standard poodle is wait until they're ready to win. You'll know when they are! They mature, are in big hair, and suddenly just "turn on!" Such was true of my Jacki. I had the good fortune to have handler Kadie Richardson Bonds show this lovely poodle for me. She has been working on and off with Betty Brown for many years and is a true artist. Kadie has a way of making the dogs work for her and adore her. They *want* to work for her. She doesn't take one moment in the ring for granted and shows every dog to win. Kadie showed Jacki in Houston, TX, picking up a 3 point major, and also in Kenner, LA, picking up two 5 point majors! Jacki had 6 single points from a few odd shows, so showing in Kenner and Houston were enough to earn her title against some major competition! Here she is, high-fiving me after her big win!
