Cali won BIG at the Crawfish Cluster in Hattiesburg, MS!

Well, the smaller entry requirements for majors have been drawing a lot of professional handlers and big poodle entries to my area. For those who have no idea what Ianguage I'm speaking right now, I'll explain.

In AKC (the only conformation venue I currently show in), it takes a total of 15 points for a Poodle to become a Champion. Of those 15 points, at least 2 of the wins have to be considered "majors." A major win can either be 3, 4, or 5 points, depending on how big the "entry" is, or how many poodles of the same sex the winner beat that day. Here in Louisiana, it takes 8 standard poodle bitches (females) to make a 3 point major win. You have to win both of your majors under 2 different judges.

On Fri, 2/22, Cali beat 15 other bitches for a 5 point major (see show results) and on Sunday 2/24 she beat 15 bitches for another 5 point major, bringing her total AKC points to 11! She just needs 4 points more to become a champion and we are hoping to garner those wins in the very near future. We are so proud of our sweet little Cali!

A major breakthrough for Cali, her co owner Tabatha Waters (NOLA Standards) and I, was hiring Sarah Perchick to show Cali for us in the big show. Sarah is a professional handler and is just incredible. She has been attending dog shows since she was a child, and she and her husband Matt travel from show to show and present some very beautiful poodles. We stacked the odds enormously in our favor by getting Sarah on board and we are thrilled and ecstatic at the outcome. Please stay tuned for some more great news!
