We didn't make it to West Monroe, LA because of the tropical storm Lee which dumped about 10 inches of rain all over New Orleans and the metro area! I just didn't have the energy to drive 30 mph for 280 miles, but we did successfully enter and show in Biloxi, MS last weekend and had a wonderful time. Betty showed up, which is always bittersweet. You can expect to lose to her as she is a top handler, but get to set up with her which is a wonderful learning experience. She is such a delightful person and a breath of fresh air in the poodle show circuit.
Giselle and I managed to go Reserve Winner's on Saturday! Wow!! First , we won the 9-12 month puppy class which put us in the running for Winner's. The winner was a nice black girl who looked very immaculately groomed and mature. She was pretty and showed perfectly. Giselle and I bounced around the ring, unsure of ourselves and still managed to get pointed to for Reserve. It was such a nice feeling. Giselle looks great. She is a nice size with lots of body and tons of awesome coat. Giselle and I bombed on Sunday, but Betty saw my nerves getting the best of me and threw me a couple of dogs to show, one of which I got Best Opposite Sex with! Cool! Practice, practice practice!
I also brought Armani along for the experience and he graced us with getting carsick both there and back! What an adventure! Thank goodness for products like self rinse shampoo and a stand dryer!
Queen Lily the Powder Puff showed in the 4-6 mos class for fun and got a group 2. She is still unsure about being touched on the grooming table, but she has lots of fun running around the ring and keep her tail up. She is a "just for fun" showdog and we have no plans to breed her. She and Armani should be starting agility training next month while Giselle is on the road for a few weekend to try to score a Major win in puppy trim like Margot did. Fingers crossed! I will have a lot of free time without having to groom her everyday.
