CH. By Request Donnchada Jacqueline ("Jacki") & GCH Alzia'a Blacktie Broadway Premiere ("Benjamin") produced six beautiful puppies!
A few years ago, co-breeder and professional poodle handler Betty Brown was showing a handsome blue male dog as a special. "Special" is a word used to refer to a conformation dog (or bitch) that has already achieved the status of AKC Champion. Specials are the ones who routinely win Best of Variety and go on to compete in the Groups for group placements and that coveted Best in Show (BIS)! Specials are just that - special!
Benjamin was the first real "blue" poodle I had ever seen. He wasn't silver, or grey, but a gunmetal, steel blue color. I've always been attracted to that color in animals, so he caught my eye early on. I attended many shows while Betty was specialing Benjamin, and I always asked to hold him ringside. Ben is an easygoing, gentle soul with an affectionate nature. He is bright, extremely attractive, and mellow. He is retired from showing now and has been for many years.
I was excited when co-breeder Betty mentioned wanting to breed Jacki with Benjamin! He is still healthy at nearly 8 years old and is a top producer of standard poodles. I was elated to recently visit and spend time with his owner and fellow breeder Megan Wilson (Alzia Poodles). Ben was just as I had remembered him - affectionate and happy. He shares his home with a few other poodles and enjoys early morning games of frisbee with his pack. I believe these puppies are special. This litter has been a delight to raise, and Jacki has done a phenomenal job in her role as their dam. Alzia & Cadeau look forward to carrying on Benjamin & Jacki's great genes in this lovely combination of blue & black puppies.
